"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer."
John F. Kennedy
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Of the past twenty years serving on nonprofit Boards (to include a multi-million dollar asset church, a homeowner's association, an affiliate Foundation of the San Diego Foundation, and the St. Germaine Children's Charity), the last decade Carol directly served as a Foundation Board member of three Poway Unified School District (PUSD) schools and a Community Foundation granting funds to PUSD schools. Her service as a community volunteer and fundraiser within PUSD included working directly with children in classrooms, supporting teachers with administrative work, and helping to raise over $750,000 to directly benefit children.
Carol's background in nonprofit fundraising, a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and a Master's degree in Organizational Management all contribute toward her unique skill set of functioning as an effective Board member. She has a proven track record of being able to work collaboratively on Boards to achieve success.
Fiscal responsibility is an absolute necessity in equipping PUSD teachers and administrators with the tools they need to achieve the results expected. Carol will work collaboratively with Board members to exercise oversight of PUSD's $350 million budget in a transparent way, ensuring that decisions prioritize what best advances children's educational experience.
Carol wants to be the voice of the children, parents and teachers in PUSD!
